Our first submission for the ‘The Sound of Red Earth’ compilation comes from Peter Whitehouse from Brisbane, QLD. This is what Peter had to say about his submission:
“Early morning, mid July 2003, a dawn chorus greets listeners on the main track of Canarvon Gorge on the way to a rock formation called “The Amphitheater”. In the winter months, crows come from miles around to a sheltered, leafy retreat and dominate the birdlife in the area. Their characteristic calls are to me what the outback sounds like, a calling from the red heart. This is a field recording taken by Peter Whitehouse (wonko) - teacher, author, occasional musician and geek.”
